I had the privilege of witnessing this absolutely stunning sunset when I was in Brazil and couldn’t resist painting it. As the sun set I couldn’t believe my eyes, with the oranges and yellows getting deeper and stronger with every passing moment. Palm trees are also close to my heart so to see two of my favourite parts of creation setting each other off like this was incredible.

I chose to paint the sunset in acrylic paints to attempt to capture the vivid colours of the sky; they also convey the strong contrast between the brilliantly lit-up clouds and palm tree silhouettes.
